Holy hot damn insurance company assholes. It simply cannot be that expensive to repair this car, that you have to rebrand the title. Must have been bought buy the insurance company and resold at auction. I bet it went for less then 10k on the Manheim auction block.

Unless you have pics of it pre-rebuild you have no way of knowing if the repairs were enough to total it. I work in insurance and you would not believe the wrecks I've seen that have been rebuilt and put back on the road. Also remember that with most rebuilt titles they did *cheaper* repairs than the ones the insurance estimated it would need because they need to buy the wreck, repair it, and still turn a profit at a lower price point.

That's pretty expensive for an FR-S rebuilt. Hell, they don't even give you a shift knob for that price!

Does crashing something void the warranty?

That is an extremely good question

Depends on how it was repaired. Sometimes the warranty will continue, but sometimes the warranty is only on new replacement parts.

Crashed so hard the shift knob flew off, never to be seen again.

What do you think? Walk in with 9k cash and see if they bite? Could be most excellent of track day cars.

If you did track it you know what you'd have to do, right?
